LG patents a folding phone that can work as tablet

Foldable smartphones may become reality soon. A patent has been filed by LG for a folding hybrid device ( Which can work as phone & tablet ). A patent has been reported on WIPO ( World Intellectual Property Organization ), where they registered two versions for this type of device.

The first version is a foldable symmetric device with single Rear & front camera with flash when the device is folded the front screen will display the date & time. They might go with 3.5mm Audio Jack with USB type-C charging. The bottom circle on front panel might be a design, we have no clue about that.

The second model is similar to first one but it’s Asymmetric, when folded it looks like a flip cover and has some space on front screen which might be used for date & time, notifications etc. This model also consists of the single rear cam just like the first version.

This patent was applied in July 2017 and it’s now officially out, we need to just wait for the device to launch or wait for some more leaks of the actual device when it’s out. Samsung has also filed a patent earlier for a foldable old flip style model but didn’t launch any smartphone of that. Though they are few patents for this foldable model from a different manufacturer neither came out with a working model, it’s a long way, just hope to happen that very soon.
