Recording a Google Hangouts Session Using Movavi Screen Recorder

Aside from being used as a platform for instant messaging, Google Hangouts is often used for video calls and conferences and has grown into a popular tool for collaboration. It does share one drawback with most other video calling platforms, however, in that it isn’t possible to ‘save’ a session.

Simply put if you were hoping that you’d be able to save one of your video calls in case you need to refer back to it at any point – it isn’t possible to do so. That is why if you want to do that you will have to look at alternatives and using Movavi Screen Recorder to record your Google Hangouts session is probably the best option.

Record Google Hangout with Movavi

To record Google Hangout you just need to set up Movavi Screen Recorder so that it records the area of your screen where the session is located, as well as the incoming and outgoing audio. Although that may sound a bit daunting, it is actually anything but and if you have a Google Hangouts session open you can launch the software and try it right now.

As soon as you launch Movavi Screen Recorder the first thing you should do is draw a frame over the Google Hangouts session that you want to record using your mouse cursor. If the frame doesn’t encompass the video correctly, you can adjust it until it does.

Next look at Movavi Screen Recorder’s interface and find both the ‘System Audio’ and ‘Microphone’ icons. Both these icons should be highlighted to record incoming and outgoing audio, and you can click to toggle them if need be.

Technically you can adjust a whole lot of other parameters in Movavi Screen Recorder as well, such as the frame rate, sound levels, keystroke capture, cursor highlight, and so on. However you don’t really need to, and if you’re ready you can press ‘REC’ to start recording at any time and begin your Google Hangouts session.

After the session is over, you should click ‘Stop’ so that Movavi Screen Recorder stops recording. It will save your video automatically as an MKV file and open up a preview window for you to go over the footage and trim out any unwanted bits. If you make any changes or want to save it in a different format, click on the ‘Save As’ button.

That should cover everything you need to know about recording a Google Hangouts session using Movavi Screen Recorder. Suffice to say it is really very straightforward, and even if it is your first time recording your screen you should be able to set it up and get started in just a few minutes.
