Technology has been evolving at a really faster pace. Even the world at large has been quite receptive to the newer developments. It has been evident with the consistent support being garnered by the projects being launched.
As has been the case with the previous years, 2016 to has been a witness to several big launches. We will try to analyse a few such Tech projects in a concise manner.
5 Best Tech Projects
1. Google Fuchsia
Well, this one has partly under wraps and partly open for public imagination. Android and Chrome are two operating systems from Google so far powering the smartphones/tablets and Laptops respectively. Both these are based on Linux and a little not suitable for embedded systems. That is the exact reason why Google has been into the development of a new OS based on Magenta.
There is still no clear indication of what exactly this new OS is meant for. There have been rumours to suggest that it would be an amalgamation of both Android and Chrome. The new operating system has been planned as an open source project. The codes are available on GitHub for the developers.
The OS will be able to run practically on any device. That would mean the same operating system will run on your PC, Laptop, Watch, smartphone or any other device. You would get a unified experience across all your devices. However, we have no sound knowledge of anything specific on the nature of Fuchsia. It could be possibly a replacement for Android. The exact plan for launching this new platform is currently under wraps.
It could as well be a project that gets scrapped eventually. We have seen that happening with many of the Google projects. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the further announcements from Google. The exact plan for launching this new platform is currently under wraps. Project Alloy is a new reference design for Virtual Reality. Developed by Intel, it has been planned as a new cordless system for your Virtual Reality requirements. You would not need any extra components as has been claimed by Intel. It would be your one piece component for everything VR.
The Virtual Reality headset itself will house the computational and graphical components within it along with 3D cameras and other necessary sensors. The battery needed for powering the system will also be embedded within. The headset will be powered by RealSense motion track technology from Intel. The device is capable of creating an awesome VR experience by blending the images from the outside world into a virtual reality experience.

Intel calls it Merged Reality. The project Alloy has been planned to be an open source platform. This would indeed go a long way in letting the third party manufacturers to come up with their own headsets based on Project Alloy. The project is bound to bridge the gap between low-end VR systems like Samsung Gear VR and high-end systems like Oculus Rift.

3. Project Loon
This is an ambitious project launched by Google X. It has been planned as a means for providing internet access to the rural areas. It is a best-suited plan for offering internet access to the locations that cannot be connected through the traditional means.
The project envisages placing balloons at high altitudes that would be used as a source of wireless internet connectivity. The speeds so obtained are expected to be up to 4G / LTE capabilities. There would be a special internet antenna connected to the buildings. The signals would travel through the series of balloons and then to a ground based station.
This ground based station would be connected to an ISP. Since this ISP is connected to the world wide web, you will get the internet access as the rest of the world does. The project would definitely be a great option for spreading information during natural disasters.
India is likely to receive a pilot project for Project Loon. The location has been planned to be either in Maharashtra or Andhra Pradesh. There are several trials being that are underway in Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, New Zealand and several other countries.
The project involves using a series of Helium filled balloons at a high altitude of around 20 kilometres above the Earth’s surface. Each of the balloons will cover around kilometres on the ground.

4. Project Fi
This yet another project that has been planned by google long ago. It can be considered as a mobile carrier service from Google. The project envisages providing a prepaid service. It would use a simplified billing schedule. It is actually a virtual mobile network service provided by Google in association with the four major cellular operators in the US – Sprint, T-Mobile, US-Cellular and Three.
If you subscribe to the Google Fi service, your phone will keep connecting to all these networks seamlessly. What makes it unique is you will be charged a uniform rate for your voice or text needs and data usage. The charges for Voice and texts is fixed at $20 per month. You will get unlimited voice and SMS services for the entire month. Data will be charged at a flat rate of $10 for each of the GB used.
You will need to have a special SIM card for the Project Fi to work on your device. Apart from the SIM card, you will also have to install a specialised software for the purpose. The phone will switch between the supported operators based on different factors. The Project also has a specialised software called WiFi Assistant. It will connect to open WiFi services whenever it finds one.
Thus you will be able to save on data without you having to do anything. There are some limitations, though. You will not be able to use on any other phone. Google has made it available only on Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X or Nexus 6. However, there are many positive things in favour of the Project Fi. There is a simplified billing structure. It would improve the network coverage.

5. Project Vault
Looks like it has been Google alone behind almost all sorts of new technology-based projects of late. Project Vault is yet another first from the software giant. The project plans to add up a digital security system to your microSD card so that your data remains safer.
The project is a part of the ATAP – Advanced Technology and Projects group of Google. In theory, the Vault will be a complete security system on the phone of a user. The Vault card will essentially be a miniature computer on your phone. It will be able to encrypt or decrypt the information contained in your phone. It will also provide you more authentication procedures.
The security system will thus be portable. As ATAP claims, the Project Vault will be A Digital Moble Safe. The card will contain the processor within. In addition, it will also have a secure operating system within. The Vault card will have a 4 GB storage capacity. It will also have NFC chip within along with an antenna.
The project will be put to test internally, by deploying the test units within the company. It will be developed initially for the enterprise market. If it gets a good reception, Google will come up with the consumer-centric variant. The project has rightly been treated as a mode for Big Security, Small Package.
Well, that was our short list of a few good Tech projects that look promising in the coming months. Undoubtedly, Google appears to be the leader when it comes to realising the need for new technology innovations. However, we are aware that there are many more projects that may need attention.
We would welcome our readers to share their views on the newer concepts and the projects. Please share your opinions on the projects featured above. We would love to hear about the future of these plans and their functionality.
